Thomas Gray "An Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard" เข้า ซึ่งอาจารย์ฝรั่งผู้สอนท่านชื่นชมเหลือเกินถึงกับบอกผู้เขียนว่างานชิ้นนี้ สะท้อนถึงความครุ่นคิดในความเงียบสงัดและสันโดษที่งดงามที่สุด

The boast of Heraldry, the Pomp of Pow"r, And all that Beauty, all that Wealth e"er gave, Awaits alike th"inevitable hour. The Paths of glory lead but to the Grave.
